JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya continues the active geological exploration works under the effective licenses, having discovered an oil deposit in the Kharkiv Region and a gas condensate deposit in the Poltava Region.

Following 3D-seismic surveys, an exploration well was drilled at the site in the Kharkiv Region, after testing of which oil inflow was reached at a depth of more than 3,700 meters. Industrial research is conducted in the well to date. and the well is being prepared for operation. According to preliminary estimates, the oil resources in the new deposit are about 130 thousand tons.

Similarly, an industrial gas inflow was reached at the site in the Poltava Region at a depth of 6,300 meters after the seismic surveys and drilling of the first exploration well. As a result, a new gas condensate deposit was discovered, the resource portfolio of which is estimated at over 2.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

Due to significant intensification of geological exploration works, including seismic exploration, at all prospecting sites Ukrgasvydobuvannya discovered 8 new deposits during the last 3 years, including 6 in 2018. This year, the Company has already discovered 2 new deposits, as mentioned above.

Ukrgasvydobuvannya is ready for further study of reserves at new sites purchased during three rounds of electronic auctions. Indeed, as has been repeatedly noted, due to the natural decline in production at deposits operated for long time, it is necessary to develop new sites with hydrocarbon deposits for a significant increase in the Ukrainian gas volumes.
