Mykhailo Bratakh has been appointed Director of the  Ukrgazvydobuvannya R&D Institute - UkrNDIGas.

"Production enhancment requires high-tech solutions. To attract and develop them, we have launched transformation of UkrNDIGas into a modern R&D Center. Last year, the 3D Field Modeling Center was already launched on its basis. This year, we plan to launch a state-of-the-art Core Storage and Research enter. Today, the Institute's staff consists of highly qualified specialists with unprecedented work experience, including 5 PhDs, 30 Сandidates of Sciences. And we continue to invest in training and expanding competencies of our specialists in accordance with international standards. I am confident that under Mikhailo's leadership, the institute will be able to reach a new level – generate necessary ideas for business, adapt new technologies and promote their implementation,"  Olexander Romanyuk, Director of the Naftogaz Exploration and Production Division, said.

Mykhailo Bratakh has been the head of the Surface Facilities Department of Ukrgasvydobuvannya since 2019. He is the author of more than 80 scientific articles and 10 patents. Since 2010, he has been an associate professor at the Department of Oil, Gas and Condensate Production of the "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" National Technical University. He started his career in the industry at UkrNDIGas as an engineer in the gas transportation department, after graduating from the Ivano–Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas.

"UkrNDIGas has a powerful team, together with which we will work to transform the institute into an oil and gas R&D Center - an international level center. Strategic emphasis in its activities will be the introduction of new technologies to maintain baseline production from mature fields, as well as creation of necessary prerequisites for successful implementation of new large projects, which often require non – standard or such solutions that have not yet been used in Ukraine," Mykhailo Bratakh added.

UkrNDIgas is the center of scientific and technical competence of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, which provides scientific, design and regulatory documentation for the full cycle of Ukrgasvydobuvannya's production activities:

• – analysis, justification and preparation of materials aimed at obtaining licences for open areas
• – design of exploration activities
• – well drilling design
• – field development design
• – field surface facilities design
• – design and optimization of hydrocarbons gathering, treatment and transportation systems
• – tie-in of production facilities to the main gas pipelines

All company's hydrocarbon assets are developed according to the Institute's projects.

UkrNDIgas scientific and technical products ensure efficient gas fields development, including mature ones, reliable and uninterrupted operation of the company's field and Inter-field gas pipelines, raw material preparation and processing facilities, etc.

The structure of the Institute includes:

• – 31 scientific departments
• – 12 laboratories with high-tech equipment and measuring instruments
• – design division

Structural divisions of UkrNDIGas are concentrated in the main gas regions of Ukraine:  Kharkiv City, Poltava City, Lviv City, Krasnograd City.
