In accordance with the current data, Ukrgasvydobuvannya’s production volume in January-April 2019 reached 5.14 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 2.7 % more compared to the same period of 2018.
In order to increase the Ukrainian gas production, UGV increases the number of stimulation works in existing depleted deposits and has performed 60 HF operations as of the end of April, which is 4 times more than in the same period of the previous year. However it is more difficult to cover the natural decline and reach a significant increase in production by performing stimulation operations because of the constant pressure drop in the deposits.
Therefore, in order to promptly resolve the issue of increasing the Ukrainian gas volume, it is necessary to add the deposits which are at the initial and middle development stages with initial pressures to UGV resource portfolio. It is worth noting that after a special permit for a new site has been received and before the start of production, it takes 3-4 years for the Company to explore reserves and perform exploratory drilling.
