On May 21, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine held the first public hearing in Senchansk territorial community according to the new EIA procedure (environmental impact assessment), the law of which entered into force in December 2017.
At the hearings, the planned activities of PoltavaGasVydobuvannya Gas Production Division (branch of PJSC UkrGasVydobuvannya) were discussed with regard to the construction of three wells Nos. 355, 356, 359 in Lokhvytsia district of Poltava region within the administrative boundaries of Senchansk united territorial community.
The employees of EIA Department (Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources), UkrNDIGas experts, representatives of the customer of planned activities – PJSC UkrGasVydobuvannya, PoltavaGasVydobuvannya Gas Production Division and the public attended the public hearings.
During the presentation of EIA report, the attendees were provided with detailed information on the well construction and its likely environmental impact.
At the same time, the public representatives expressed their views and received replies to all their questions about the company activities.

Senchansk community is one of the priority areas for natural gas extraction in Poltava region, where Yablunivka gas condensate field is located. PJSC UkrGasVydobuvannya currently operates 55 wells, thanks to which rental payments are made to the community budget.
In the first four months of 2018 alone, PJSC UkrGasVydobuvannya allocated UAH 157 million in Poltava region and UAH 17.6 million in Senchansk territorial community.
The forecasts indicate that the rent payments to Senchansk territorial community will amount to about UAH 54.5 million by the end of 2018.
