From June 1 to June 5, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine held a series of public hearings in Sumy and Kharkiv regions under the new EIA procedure (environmental impact assessment), the law of which entered into force in December 2017.
On June 1, public hearings were held in Lebedyn (Sumy region), where the plans for activities of PoltavaGasVydobuvannya Gas Production Division in the region were presented.
On June 4, public hearings were held in Balakliia (Kharkiv region), where the plans for activities of ShebelynkaGasVydobuvannya Gas Production Division in the region were presented.
On June 5, public hearings were held in Krasnohrad (Kharkiv region), where the plans for activities of ShebelynkaGasVydobuvannya Gas Production Division in the region were discussed.
The employees of EIA Department (Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources), UkrNDIGas experts, representatives of the customer of planned activities – PJSC UkrGasVydobuvannya, PoltavaGasVydobuvannya Gas Production Division and the public attended the public hearings.
In total, PJSC UkrGasVydobuvannya initiated 93 environmental impact assessment procedures.
As previously reported, on May 21, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine held the first public hearing in Senchansk territorial community according to the new EIA procedure (environmental impact assessment) regarding planned activities of UGV in Poltavshchyna.
