A new Skydanivska appraisal well with TD of 6,300 m provides production of 200 tcmpd. This field in the Poltava region was discovered by Ukrgasvydobuvannya specialists in 2019.
The previously estimated resources of the Skidanovsky field is more than 2.7 bcm. Modern 3D seismic surveys were conducted at the site, based on the results of which the new field exploration program is being Implemented.
"We are focusing on exploring new areas, greenfields. After all, these are new reserves, which means a prospect for increasing hydrocarbon production. For exploration, the company uses modern methods of data analysis and reservoir modeling. This program is already giving its results. In early December, we discovered a new Mospanivske field. A new Skydanivska high-yield appraisal well has already been tied-in to the IGTP. In parallel with working on traditional greenfields, we continue to work on major strategic projects: the Black Sea, Yuzivska area, PSA areas," Olexander Romanyuk, Director of the Naftogaz Exploration and Production Division, said.
The new appraisal well has discovered a new gas-bearing deposit within the Skidanivske field, at a depth of more than 6,100 m.
Drilling operations were carried out by Ukrburgaz drilling team using the new Bentec rig, which is named after Petro Sagaidachny, an outstanding Ukrainian commander.
To continue unlocking the potential of the Skidanivske field, it is planned to drill new appraisal and exploration wells. Moreover, the results of interpretation of 3D WAZ seismic surveys are expected.
