In the frameworks of the program on the creation of effective geological and process 3D models of the areas, JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya sank and drilled a new well in the Gadyach field. The well location was selected according to the modeling results of geology, development dynamics, and drainage features of the field reserves. As of today, the well is in operation with a daily yield of 85 ths. cub.m of natural gas.
In the conditions of the current delicate state of the Ukrainian fields (UGV), namely, the over 80% depletion and a natural decline in production of about 1.5 bln. cub.m of gas per annum, the high-tech managerial decisions on such field development are vital. Only with a clear understanding of their current state, the final development stage can be planned efficiently, and the profit can be gained even in such a problematic resource state.
After the Petrel and Eclipsе software introduction in March 2018, the UkrNDIGas specialists, together with the Schlumberger representatives, have built ten three-dimensional models of the fields, ten more models are currently built. The Company plans to provide geologically and process 3D models for all Ukrgasvydobuvannya fields until the end of 2024.
The three-dimensional models are being designed and updated continuously according to the results of seismic, geophysical, and other studies of reserves. Using such models make it possible to specify the geological structure of the field and hydrocarbon reserves, forecast the processes occurring in gas-bearing layers during the development, improve the further design, management, and monitoring quality of the field development.
Considering the high depletion level of the fields available in the Company, using the hydrodynamic modeling of reserves development is a crucial step to improve the drilling efficiency and hydrocarbon production performance in the condition of the gas price drop in the global markets.
