Ukrgasvydobuvannya notes improvement of cooperation with the State Service of Geology and Subsoil resources of Ukraine during the last months. For example, the operational processing and provision of documents that are within the competence of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine, is performed. Among them are, in particular, granting, prolongation and modification of special permits for UGV (about 100 from the beginning of the year).

It is worth noting the organization and holding of the auction by the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine last month for the sale of special permits for the use of hydrocarbon deposits, in which JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya took part and won in the struggle for the right to purchase one of the sites.

Conducting this auction is an indicator of the readiness of State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine to establish regular auctions for the sale of special permits through electronic bidding. The possibility of such auctions was actively supported by the market participants, the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine, the Government and other institutions. Consequently, Resolution of the CMU "On the implementation of an experimental project on the implementation of auctions for the sale of special permits for the use of subsoil through electronic auction” was adopted.

“We believe that the steps, taken by the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine in order to create appropriate conditions for subsoil use, create the positive preconditions for increasing natural gas extraction and achieving Ukraine's energy independence”, — noted Oleh Prokhorenko, Chairman of the Board of JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya.

 For reference

Since the beginning of the year, Ukrgasvydobuvannya received the permits for the use of subsoil with respect to such subsoil areas:

  • - 2 special permits for geological study based on the results of UGV activity by the previous special permit;
  • - 2 special permits for extraction of hydrocarbons based on the results of UGV activity by the previous special permit;
  • - the validity period of 10 special permits for hydrocarbon production, expired in 2017, was extended;
  • - the validity period of 30 special permits for hydrocarbon production, expired in 2018, was extended;
  • - 36 effective special permits for the use of subsoil were amended.

Also, in October-November 2018, the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine adopted positive decisions regarding 15 subsoil areas:

  • - 2 new special permits for the use of subsoil for the scientific purposes were granted;
  • - the validity period of 10 special permits for hydrocarbon production to expire in 2019 was extended;
  • - 1 special permit for the extraction of hydrocarbons was amended;
  • - the boundaries of 1 effective special permit for geological study were extended;
  • - 1 special permit for geological study based on the results of UGV activity by the previous special permit was received.
