JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya continues the active geological exploration works under the effective licenses and has discovered the fourth deposit in the Kharkiv Region this year.

At the geological exploration stage,   the gas reserves of the discovered deposit are at least 400 million cubic meters, and the prospective resources of the gas deposit may amount to approx. 3.7 billion cubic meters as estimated by UkrNDIGas.

The deposit was discovered in November 2018 after completion of drilling and testing of the exploration well, drilled based on the area geological structure analysis. The deposit geological model was developed using Petrel software by Schlumberger.

The works on the well infrastructure development and pilot operation, as well as prospecting and exploration works in the new deposit are ongoing.

It is worth noting that this year three new deposits have been already discovered in the Kharkiv Region in the subsoil areas, the special permits for which were received by 2017. The prospective resources of four new deposits generally amount to 8.2 billion cubic meters.

It is worth mentioning that Ukrgasvydobuvannya supports the decision of the Government and activity of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine concerning conducting transparent oil and gas auctions. And, as a result, Ukrgasvydobuvannya has already won their first oil and gas auction, having obtained the special permit for subsoil use of the Lypovetsky field. However, in order to implement the Program 20/20 and to gain energy independence, UGV should get approx. 20 special permits for new fields annually.
