JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya put a new well into commercial operation in Shoseine field, Kharkiv region. Its daily flow rate after hydraulic fracturing operation (HF) has increased more than 20 times and amounted to 121 th m3 of gas.
“This is a new subsoil area with prospective resources of about 9 billion cubic meters of gas. We conducted seismic surveys, identified prospects and started to drill it. Of course, one such area will not make a breakthrough in gas production on a country-wide scale. However, working under dozens of such special permits gives a tangible result that allows us to maintain our gas production levels. The high level of this well confirms that investment in drilling even on a high or low surface, combined with modern methods of intensification, can be economically justified," commented Andrew Favorov, Director of Integrated Gas Business of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
The new well was drilled by its drilling contractor, Ukrburgas, with a machine from the Chinese manufacturer HongHua, which the Company purchased in 2018. The daily flow rate after drilling was about 5 thousand m3 of the blue fuel. After HF operations, the well yield grew to 121 th.m3 per day. The HF works were performed by LLC Service Oil, a subsidiary of PU Belorusneft.
The Company plans to drill a few more exploration and production wells by 2022, as well as build a complex gas treatment plant.
The effective operation of the new (greenfields) and existing (brownfields) fields are the strategic directions of the Company. They are based on the Tryzub production growth program, which was presented in February 2020. In addition to these areas, the program also includes deep drilling, tight gas extraction and offshore development.
