Today, on March 29, PJSC UkrGasVydobuvannya, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and Lviv Regional State Administration signed the Trilateral Memorandum of Cooperation.
The Memorandum provides for the introduction of production scientific technologies aimed at stimulating oil and gas production developed by the university academics, as well as the adaptation of the education programs and curricula of Oil and Gas Geology Department to the actual industry needs. At the same time, the document offers possibilities for conducting field practices of the students at UGV production facilities.
The signing of the Memorandum is foreseeable. Myron Firman, Director of Geology at PJSC UkrGasVydobuvannya, at the end of last year met with Volodymyr Melnyk, Rector of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, faculty and students of the Geology Department of the University. It was there that they discussed needs for the cooperation.
Myron Firman observed that UGV is very interested in quality training of the human resource personnel (geologists) who will have the desire to learn more, share best practices and experiences of the world known specialists and become experts of international standing.
In turn, Volodymyr Melnyk, Rector of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, asked for assistance in updating the faculty’s educational programs to the level of current practical requirements. “We do not have conservative attitudes to the educational process, we strive to adapt it to practical needs, we are ready for change and we propose to help us in that,” he said.
Rostyslav Zamlynskyi, First Deputy Head of Lviv Regional State Administration, thanked for such initiative. He noted that today our success is the achievement of Ukrainian energy independence.
