In early July, Ukrgasvydobuvannya completed drilling a new appraisal well with a total depth of 6,600 m. It became the deepest in the Company's history. It yielded a high flow rate of 150 thousand cubic meters of gas.
The field where the record-breaking well was drilled was discovered only in 2019. Therefore, the task of the new well was to further explore hydrocarbon deposits and update the geological structure of the field. Logging performed in the well resulted in the growth of recoverable hydrocarbon reserves by more than 100 million cubic meters.
"A team of experts from various domains worked together to design and construct this special well, which allowed performing the work efficiently and in concise terms. Our drilling experts have once again proved their skills in penetrating the deep productive horizons. Therefore, we received additional production and new prospects for further field development," – Oleg Tolmachev, the acting CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, said.
As previously reported, in H1 2023, after drilling and workover operations, Ukrgasvydobuvannya has commissioned 13 high-rate wells (with rates exceeding 100 thousand cubic meters of gas per day).
