Shebel put a new diesel fuel hydrotreating reactor into operation

At Shebelynka GPP, the next upgrade stage at which a new diesel fuel hydrotreating reactor was put into service has been completed.

The new reactor is equipped with a catalyst system by the leading international Company UOP, including the modern cobalt-molybdenum catalyst HYT-4118 designed for the production of diesel fuel with ultra-low sulfur content and low hydrogen consumption.

The preparation for putting the new reactor into operation took more than a year, and it was commissioned directly during the scheduled preventive repair that ended on October 11.

UOP engineers supervised the catalyst loading into the reactor and a complex of commissioning operations.

“At first, we have assured the quality of the products we produce, and now we are working on increasing the production capacity,” Serhiy Fedorenko, the Director for Commercial Issues, Ukrgasvydobuvannya, comments. “The new reactor increases the hydrotreating unit capacity at Shebelynka GPP up to 200 ths. t per annum.”
