Shebel to produce winterized diesel

Shebelynka Oil Refinery (Shebel, Ukrgasvydobuvannya, Oil Division) now offers diesel fuel with improved low-temperature properties.

Shebel winterized diesel meets the requirements of DSTU 7688:2015 “EURO Diesel Fuel”, Technical Regulations and the Euro 5 emission standard.

Shebel winterized diesel has a cold filter plugging point of minus 29 °C (at a norm of minus 20 °C), the sulfur content of up to 5 mg/kg (at a norm of up to 10 mg/kg), and the cetane number of 51 (at a norm of at least 49). The certificate of quality for Shebel winterized diesel can be found here.

The manufacturing technology of Shebel winterized diesel uses BASF additives. Technological developments of this German chemical concern are also used by the company in the manufacture of other motor fuels (Shebel 95 / Shebel 92 gasoline).

With the onset of the winter season, the company also plans to produce Shebel arctic grade diesel with lower temperature properties.

“Our consumers show an ever increasing interest to Shebel fuel from year to year,” comments Serhii Fedorenko, Commercial Director of Ukrgasvydobuvannya. -

Therefore, the issue of product quality and reliability is our highest priority. We are working to ensure that Ukrainian drivers have a worthy alternative to imported fuel”.

Background. In October last year, Shebel commissioned a brand new diesel fuel hydrotreater with a catalyst system from the leading international company UOP, which increased the capacity of the hydrotreating unit at the Shebelynka GPP to 200 thous. tons per year. Moreover, in December last year, Shebel commissioned a brand new dewaxing reactor with a catalyst system from Haldor Topsoe A/S (Denmark), which allowed the production of arctic grade diesel with a cold filter plugging point of -32 °C.
