Oleksandr Romanyuk, Director of the Naftogaz Exploration and Production Division, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine and will hold this position for a year. The decision was made at the meeting of the AGPU Board members.
As the Chairman of the Board of AGPU, Oleksandr Romanyuk will contribute to increasing the investment attractiveness of the gas production industry, introducing international experience in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons, as well as establishing effective communication between business and government.
– The gas production industry is facing new challenges. Falling global gas prices, economic crisis, depletion of fields, consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic - all these factors adversely affect production indicators. We are in dire need of anti-crisis solutions capable of not only stabilizing the industry, but also creating a solid foundation for further sustainable growth. Cooperation between public and private producers in terms of addressing these issues is becoming even more urgent. The association is a potent platform for such interaction. In particular, Naftogaz is currently developing a promising strategy for increasing its resource base, and we are ready to share our best practices with the industry. On the other hand, expertise of business that has excelled in operating efficiency and technological innovation is vital to us. Together we are and will be communicating with public authorities and involve the public to create new incentives for gas production. I would like to thank the AGPU members for their trust and opportunity to head the Board for the next year, and I will make every effort for its effective work, – said Oleksandr Romanyuk.
