Oleg Tolmachev, who has more than 20 years of experience in producing hydrocarbon in North America, was appointed Deputy Director for Production (of the Naftogaz Exploration and Production Division).
“We continue to strengthen our team in all directions and at all levels. In order to stabilize production and implement new strategic projects for resource base development, Naftogaz revises its production processes and introduces new work approaches. Oleg Tolmachev is a manager with extensive experience in gas and condensate production in North America. His task is to introduce practices and technologies in Ukraine that will increase production efficiency at existing fields along with achieving optimal financial indicators,” Oleksandr Romanyuk, Director of the Naftogaz Exploration and Production Division, said.
Oleg Tolmachev graduated from Oklahoma State University in the specialty Petroleum Engineering in the USA. Then he was working for gas producing companies in the United States such as BP America, Chesapeake Energy, EnCana Oil & Gas USA, Eclipse Resources and Montage Resources, where he held positions as Production and Completion Engineer, Vice-President and Senior Vice-President, Executive Vice-Pesident and Operational Director.
Oleg headed high-tech projects for the development of large fields in North America with gas and gas condensate deposits from both traditional reservoirs (East Texas Deep Bossier) and tight formations (Utica, Haynesville, Barnett, Marcellus, GranWash). His responsibilities included increasing project economic efficiency, building and managing multifunctional teams (geology, development, drilling, production, HC preparation and processing).
“I have already got to know Naftogaz team members, including those from the regions. All of them are experienced and professional experts. In order to stabilize Ukrainian gas production and realize the existing company's resource potential, we must learn how to produce gas faster and cheaper. When developing gas fields in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, we have introduced a large amount of know-hows for the highly efficient development of deep and low permeable reservoirs, including horizontal drilling technologies application. This know-how helped us to increase production economy and efficiency to the next level. Due to the fact that most of Naftogaz's assets are ideally suited for implementing well-developed and proven North American technologies, my primary task is to introduce this experience into Ukrainian projects,” Oleg Tolmachev said.
