Ukrgasvydobuvannya has commissioned two high-rate wells. Both wells have been drilled at one field. One of the wells has been side-tracked; the second has been commissioned after drilling.
The first well has been drilled back in 1975 but was decommissioned into the inactive inventory due to technical complications. The specialists of Ukrgasvydobuvannya have analysed the well, the status of the field area development and identified the prospects of well re-entry.
– To re-enter the high-yield well the decision to side-track and perform several hydraulic fracturing stages has been made. This approach proved successful and provided more than additional 100 tcm of blue fuel for the country, Oleg Tolmachev, acting CEO at Ukrgasvydobuvannya comments.
The second, prospecting and development well also flows more than 100 tcm of gas. The high result has been ensured by the selection of its point at the northern border by the development team and four hydraulic fracturing stages.
Ukrburgaz DD’s team performed drilling of both wells.
Since 2021 the intensified drilling programme has been performed at this field. During the last 1.5 years, despite the martial law and related difficulties, the active inventory has been filled with 15 new development wells. Several more are being drilled. This year the field will return to the annual production exceeding 1 bcm for the first time in the last 10 years.
