Ukrgasvydobuvannya has completed the construction of a further exploration well No. 206 with a depth of 6 100 m at Berezovskoye field in Kharkiv region. Its daily well flow rate is more than 250 thousand m3 of natural gas.
"The complex geological structure and deep depths have made this project another challenge for the company we have handled. The well not only produced a significant commercial gas inflow but also confirmed the productivity of the gas deposit at great depth, this is a working example of our geologists, reservoirs and developers to further explore and improve the extraction efficiency at the "old" fields. We plan to scale the ultradeep drilling experience in several other areas within our Tryzub program. This is one of the directions that will allow Ukraine to move from the status quo to the production increase”, - said Andrew Favorov, Director for Integrated Gas Business at Naftogaz of Ukraine.
Berezovsky field has been developing since 1983. Since then, it has produced about 16 billion m3 of gas - 65% of the initial hydrocarbon volume. To efficiently extract the residual reserves at considerable depths, Ukrgasvydobuvannya conducted the seismic studies using the 3D method and clarified the geological model of the field. The drilling volumes for the exploration and operating wells were planned according to the obtained data.
According to the drilling results of exploration well No. 206 at Berezovskoye field it was possible to confirm the productivity of the gas deposit and to receive the commercial gas inflow in the volume of 250 thousand m3 per day. The explored reserve increase will be more than 500 million m3 of natural gas. The drilling was carried out through the course of the year by an external drilling contractor - Xinjiang Beiken Energy Engineering Co.
Now another exploration well with a depth of 6 000 m is being drilled at Berezovskoye field. The works are carried out by employees of its drilling division - Ukrburgas.
It should be noted that in February, Ukrgasvydobuvannya presented a new program to increase gas production - Tryzub. It is based on three promising directions: ultradeep drilling, tight gas deposit and offshore field exploration. At the same time, the company will continue to work with its existing portfolio of the fields and explore new sites to support the essential production volume.
