Naftogaz Grants Aid to 227 Communities Producing Gas

JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya, a member of Naftogaz Group, completed the project “Charitable Assistance to Communities”, within the framework of which 227 communities in 11 regions received personal protective equipment, devices and disinfectants for healthcare workers and the public. The total amount of assistance to communities to reduce the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) exceeded 35.8 MUAH.

Prompt delivery of aids to the regions was ensured by employees of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, which produces gas in the aforementioned communities.

“Since the beginning of the quarantine, we have been actively receiving requests for help from local authorities. Therefore, even faced at first with a shortage of necessary protective equipment, we found an opportunity to help communities. These are our partners with whom we have established comprehensive, mutually beneficial relationships. And we couldn't abandon them in this situation. We have developed unified packages of priority aids and ensured their prompt delivery to the regions,” said Viacheslav Chaus, Deputy General Director of JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya for Land and Social Affairs.

In total, about 9,000 liters of disinfectants, more than 1,000,000 protective gloves, 200,000 respirators, more than 500,000 face masks, up to 1,000 remote-sensing thermometers, about 6,000 protective medical glasses and other medical aids were handed over to the needs of 227 communities. Aid was granted to both medical institutions and the local population.

To prepare unified packages of aids, the company consulted with medical experts, healthcare workers and public organizations. When purchasing the necessary aids, the core requirement was the quality of goods, certified products and compliance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

It should be noted that in 2020 Naftogaz Group financed the purchase of 3,200,000 medical masks, more than 20,000 liters of disinfectants and 1,200 isolation gowns for the EIT, the unified entrance exam and the unified professional entrance exam.

During the week before the start of the EIT, aids were delivered by employees of Ukrgasvydobuvannya to regional departments and departments of education and science in 24 regional state administrations, as well as to the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the Executive Body of the Kyiv City Council.
