Naftogaz Group’s Ukrgazvydobuvannya has drilled an exploration well to discover a new oil and gas deposit at an already depleted field.  

"This is one of several paying wells that was commissioned by Ukrgasvydobuvannya in March 2023. Its daily flow rate is now more than 460 thousand cubic meters of gas - the highest production rate among the wells commissioned by the company over the past 2.5 years. This is an important achievement for us," commented Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz Group.

The success was possible due to state-of-the-art approaches to processing geological information, in particular 3D seismic data, which helped to identify a previously unexplored deposit and determine the optimal location for drilling.

"This is a collective achievement of our geologists and drillers who have done their job at the highest level. In the extremely difficult conditions of martial law, we are doing everything to ensure passing the next heating season for Ukraine without gas imports," commented Oleg Tolmachev, Acting CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya.
