Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC, a part of Naftogaz Group, has commissioned two highly productive wells, which in total produce more than 430 tcm of blue fuel per day.

"We have commissioned another big producers, continuing our policy of increasing gas production in the country. Application of the latest geological approaches, brown field development design, improving the drilling efficiency and complex stimulation operations are the components that allow us to give a second life to old assets", – Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC, said. 

The first of the wells is an exploration well with total depth 5850 m. The field where it was drilled, was discovered 40 years ago. However, based on the results of 3D seismic exploration, geologists continued additional exploration of the field and identified new prospective areas for drilling.  

"The second well was drilled at an even older field which was discovered 55 years ago. Due to significant depletion, the volume of production at this field has been declining quite rapidly in recent years. However, the negative trend was stopped thanks to implementing the Extension drilling program and commissioning 7 new production wells over the past year. This gave us the possibility to change from dropping to increasing the production", – Oleg Tolmachev, Acting CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, said.

Both wells were commissioned by own company's specialists: drilling was performed by specialists of Ukrburgaz branch, multi-stage hydraulic fracturing was performed by UGV-Service professionals.
