Over 400,000 cubic meters of additional gas per day: Ukrgasvydobuvannya has commissioned new wells

In November, Ukrgasvydobuvannya has commissioned another three high-rate wells, which in total provide more than 400,000 cubic meters of gas per day. Two of them are new, and the third has been re-abandoned.

- To maintain and increase production, we use various methods, due to which we get the results in cubic meters of gas, urgently needed for our country. Appraisal and development, re-interpretation of data, review of the active and abandoned wells are parts of the works helping to achieve a common goal, - Oleg Tolmachev, acting CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya comments.

A new appraisal well has been drilled in a recently discovered field. Experts determined the drilling point based on previously acquired 3D seismic data. Another new prospecting and development well has been drilled in the brownfield, produced for more than 50 years. Development specialists of UkrNDIGas and the Development Department performed an in-depth analysis of the development status, assessed the residual potential of gas condensate deposits, and determined a point for a new well. Both wells were drilled by Ukrburgaz Branch.

The re-entered well has been abandoned for 35 years. Specialists of the Hydraulic Fracturing Department of Ukrgasvydobuvannya have determined the prospects of the well re-entry and the subsequent hydraulic fracturing of the formation. Specialists of UGV-SERVICE Branch carried out CWO and re-entry of the well and prepared the well for hydraulic fracturing. The third-party contractor performed a successful two-stage hydraulic fracturing, due to which a high flow rate became possible.
