According to official sources, natural gas production of JSC UkrGasVydobuvannya amounted to 7 billion 546 million cubic metres for January-June 2018, which is consistent with the trend of gas production growth.
UGV has been taking a number of measures to increase gas production. Thus, in the first half of the year, 440 production stimulation operations were carried out, among them 278 coil tubing operations and 115 well workover operations, whereas 19 new wells were put into operation.
Also, more than 23 kilometres of gas pipeline “Valiukhi” have been put into operation, which makes it possible to reduce the input pressure by 3-4 atmospheres and ensure optimal operation of wells and decrease load on BCS ‘Dykanka’ in summer.
In addition, in May-June 2018, UGV commissioned two new deposits in Kharkiv region into operation in very short time.
At the same time, in the III and IV quarters of 2018, JSC UkrGasVydobuvannya planns to commission new production facilities: 4 gas-fueled reciprocating machines with piston-type compressors, 2 gas turbine power units with radial-flow compressors and 14 low-pressure booster compressor stations, also to increase the number of workover rigs to more than 70, to bring the number of coil tubing complexes to 17, purchase nitrogen units, and also to commission new wells of the external drilling contractors.
Let us recall that every month the Company is faced with increasing difficulties in ramping up its production, since the available resource base of the company is exhausted by almost 70% and the natural fall in production exceeds the production growth. Thus the major constraint for the development of new resource base of UGV is the lack of new E&P permits.
